How to use Eventbrite’s promotional tools

Pro Tip: Want to see how Eventbrite promotional tools are working for you? Just scroll to the bottom of your Event Dashboard for an overview, or return to the Invite & Promote section of Manage to drill down on how your promotional efforts are going (and use this data to drive better campaigns!).

Optimize for search and discovery

When you create an event, we generate a URL that's readable and SEO-friendly to make your event page easier to find and promote.

Example: (the numbers represent your unique event ID.)

This means that there’s less work on your part to ensure attendees are more likely to discover your events across various search engines; it’s all done for you when you make your event Live!

Your event is public by default, which means it will be be:

- Indexed by major search engines (like Google, Yahoo!, and Bing)

- Made available to our distribution partners, like Eventful

- Listed in our public event-search directory, making it easy to find by event seekers.


Note: Make sure that your event is marked as Public by going to Step 3: Additional Settings on your event’s Edit page to take advantage of optimized search and discovery. Select an Event Type and Event Topic to make it easier for attendees to find your event.

Sell tickets through Facebook

Use the power of the social graph to drive more visits to your event page and sell more tickets! Facebook Integration allows you to easily publish your event to Facebook from within Eventbrite. You can also use Twitter to promote your event!

Create a stand-out event page

Use your event page to really sell your event! Create a compelling Event Description in Step 1: Add Event Details; paint a picture of what’s to come and plus info on parking options, directions to the location starting from major landmarks, ID requirements for entrance/participation, the event’s refund policy, etc.

You can even add images and/or video to your event page. Try including images from a previous year’s event or sponsorship logos if you’ve got some top-tier sponsors supporting your event. Consider including a custom header at the top of your event page; it’s a great way to sell your event to prospective attendees.


Note: Make sure that you have permission to use the images and/or videos you plan to include on your event page.

Apply a theme to your event under the Design tab. Choose from 15 custom event themes, and even customize specific elements to give your page a unique look and feel.

Create promotions with discount codes, public discounts, and access codes

Promotions is a great tool that offers the ability to set up discount codes or discounts available to the general public. You can also create access codes to reveal hidden tickets specifically created for a sponsor, members of the press, and employees.

Promotions tools live on your event’s Manage page under Invite & Promote, and you can set up as many as you’d like (and even choose what ticket types they apply to).

Send email invitations

Use the Email Invitations tool on your event’s Manage page to invite prospective attendees to your event.

Or leverage our partnerships with MailChimp and Event Kingdom for even more email-customization options and higher per-day sending limits.

Use a custom link in marketing materials

You can create a custom URL (web address) for your event page to make it easier to promote your event.

Example: The event page URL “” has been customized via Page URL on the Event Dashboard (found on the Manage page) to “” The former ensures that your event page is properly indexed and searchable, while the latter is an easier to remember link for promoting to attendees.

Publicize your event on your own website with widgets

Choose from a variety of customizable widgets to include on your own website, from the entire event registration page to button and text links to a calendar displaying all your live events, you can fine-tune your widget’s color scheme and auto-generate the HTML code to add to your website.


Note: If you’ve customized your event page URL, the code generated using the Buttons tool will reference the auto-generated event page URL for your event page while the code generated using the Text Link tool will reference your custom URL. This is solely for tracking purposes.

Monitor campaign effectiveness with tracking links

Individualized tracking links for promoters and marketing campaigns give you insight into what sources are referring the most traffic and ticket sales.

​Turn attendees into promoters with an affiliate program

You can set up an affiliate program to reward event promoters for the referral sales they generate. Invite people or post the sign up link to your website to gather more promoters, and choose whether to give a percentage of ticket sales or a flat rate. Create this in the Manage section of your event under Invite & Promote.
