How Eventbrite works (for attendees)

Updated: 09/02/15

What is Eventbrite?

Eventbrite is an internet platform that 3rd party unrelated event organizers around the world use to sell tickets and registrations for their events - from yoga classes to tech conferences. It is ‘self-service,’ which means that Eventbrite provides tools to organizers so that they can create registration pages for their own events and promote them across multiple social networks.

Attendees can use Eventbrite to discover new events in their area.

Eventbrite as a Payment Processor

Eventbrite’s credit card payment processor allows ticket buyers to easily and safely purchase tickets online. Your information is processed over a secure connection using a PCI-compliant gateway.

Though we offer you the option to save your credit card details in your Eventbrite account, for your protection, this information is not stored on Eventbrite’s servers.

You can expect to see charges on your credit card statement displayed as ‘EB*’ followed by the first 17 characters of the event title. If you happen to come across a charge that you don’t recognize, contact our support team and we will be happy to help you out! In the meantime, if you are looking for the details of your purchase, they can be found in the order confirmation email sent to you from

Refund Policy

We understand that sometimes things come up and you need a refund for a ticket purchase.

Eventbrite enables event organizers around the globe to sell tickets to their events, and we also enable them to establish their own refund policies. You may want to check the event page where you initially registered for the event or your order confirmation email for any information the event organizer has provided about refunds.

If you have any questions, you can use the ‘Contact the Host’ button on the event page, reply to your order confirmation email, or use the Refund Request tool in your account to communicate with the organizer directly.
